Description:
The purpose of this presentation is to identify dimensions
of culture and the influence of culture on palliative care for
patients across the life span. In addition, a review of
various beliefs regarding death and dying in a multitude of
different cultures will be discussed.
Objectives:
- Identify dimensions of culture and the influence of
culture on pediatric palliative care.
- Conduct a cultural and spiritual assessment of children
and families facing the end of life.
- Discuss beliefs regarding death and dying families held
by various cultures and religions.
- Recognize the value of interdisciplinary care in
respecting cultural and spiritual diversity.
