Description:
This presentation provides several ways,
tools and techniques whereby we can offer the terminally ill
opportunities and choices in determining the course of their
treatment and the course of their lives, showing how we can
take simple, traditional caregiving forms and tasks and
transform them in such ways as to offer our patients a sense
of choice and control.
Objectives:
- Explain how the assessment process
can emphasize patient control.
- Explain how care plans and other
tools can emphasize patient control.
-
Provide patient case study examples of where patient control
led to a meaningful death.
