Description:
This course provides the education and tools to support
optimal end-of-life care for persons with dementia.
Objectives:

Identify 3 stages of Alzheimer's Disease and 7 stages of
FAST for progression/hospice appropriatness.

Describe barriers and opportunities for
hospice services for persons with Alzheimer's Disease and
the related dementias.

Describe validated pain/behavior and functional assessment
tools used for assessing cognitive and functional decline.
-
Demonstrate knowledge of compassionate care giving and
habilitation.
-
Recognize importance of proactive planning and describe
benefits and burdens of some of the treatment options
available.
