This course is part of HEN's "What You Need To Know and What You Need To Do" series of information that should be presented to hospice staff and volunteers annually.  Components of a hospice’s Hazard Communication Program are identified, with discussion of employees’ rights, how to stay informed, and what a surveyor will look for.

  1. Identify the following components of a hospice’s Hazard Communication Program:

              •  Hazardous Substances List

              •  Labeled containers

              •  Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

              •  Staff training

  1. Describe an example of a potential hazardous substance for oneself in one’s work setting, and what you need to know and do.
