Description:
This program provides information regarding advance care planning
that may lessen the ethical dilemmas that patients and families
often face. The quality of patient care may be enhanced by
gaining insight into the responsibility of making difficult
decisions during difficult times and alleviate feelings of
isolation by understanding the ethical context of practice.
Objectives:
- Participant will explain the Patient Self-Determination
Act
- Participant will name 2 types of advanced directives
- Participant will identify 2 issues regarding decision
making and communication
- Participant will compose a list (real or imagined) of
directives utilizing an appropriate advanced directive tool
