Description:
This course is part of HEN's "What You Need To Know and What
You Need To Do" series of information that should be presented
to hospice staff and volunteers annually.
A wide range of safety factors in the patient/caregiver’s home
environment are identified and discussed, with an in-depth
examination of causes for falls among hospice/palliative
patients.
Interdisciplinary group/team (IDG/IDT) assessment, education,
prevention and intervention safety measures are described;
with what a surveyor will look for to ensure patient safety in
the home.
OBJECTIVES:

patient/caregiver’s home environment during the
comprehensive assessment.

with prevention and intervention safety measures.

Choose effective responses to case study scenarios
involving safety in the home.
