Description:
This course is part of HEN's "What You Need To Know and What
You Need To Do" series of information that should be presented
to hospice staff and volunteers annually.
The hospice patient’s rights are identified and discussed,
with relevance to why these matter for hospice and palliative
patients and families/caregivers.
What you need to know and do is paired with what a
hospice surveyor will look for to ensure your hospice honors
your patients’ rights.
OBJECTIVES:
-
List and explain the hospice patient’s rights and describe
why they matter.
-
Discuss how and when the hospice must inform patients of
their rights.
-
Name three things hospice staff and volunteers can do to
honor and protect each patient’s rights.
