Description:
This program is a review of an emergency / disaster plan procedure to ensure patient and staff safety and continuity of care before, during, and after an emergency or a disaster. Surge capacity and a patient priority classification system is described.

Objectives:

• List examples of emergencies and disasters
• Describe eight components of a written Emergency/Disaster Plan
• Describe a Patient Priority Classification System
• Describe the importance of annual emergency rehearsals and drills
